Rhodri Thomas recently hosted the second of two seminars which brought together senior academics with senior practitioners to discuss research on a contemporary theme. The event was held at Imperial College, London, and was part of Rhodri's ESRC funded Follow-on project (Engaging business elites in tourism). The research discussed at the event related to issues of sustainability and included a paper by Leeds Met's Professor Harold Goodwin, along with colleagues from the Universities of Surrey, Oxford Brookes and Cardiff. The senior practitioners present were: Jane Ashton, Head of Sustainable Development, TUI Travel PLC ; Steven Freudmann, Chairman, Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT); Mike Greenacre, Managing Director, The Co-operative Travel; Richard Tobias, Chairman, Best Loved Hotels; Claire Steiner, Chair, ITT Education and Training Committee. For images of the events please click on this link: www.stevedunlop.com/ittsustainabilityroundtable.html
