| Location: Bronte Hall Room 214, Headingley Campus, Leeds, LS6 3QW Rhodri Thomas is ITT Professor of Tourism and Events Policy and Director of Research at UKCEM. Originally trained as an economist, Rhodri now engages in multidisciplinary public policy research in the context of tourism and the events sector. He has co-authored or edited six books and written numerous academic papers. He has recently acted as a ‘specialist expert’ on policy issues for the OECD, the European Commission and for government departments and other agencies in the UK. He currently supervises seven PhD students and recently acted a panel member and mentor for an ESRC initiative for PhD students with an interest in knowledge exchange with the private sector. Until recently, he was Non-Executive Director of Welcome to Yorkshire (Yorkshire Tourist Board).
