Dr Razaq Raj is Senior Lecturer in the UK Centre for Events Management teaching Financial and Strategic Management and a University Teacher Fellow. He has published work on special events, financial management in events, information technology, events sponsorship, cultural festivals and events, sustainable tourism and religious tourism. He is Editor in Chief for the World Journal of Tourism, Leisure and Sport. Razaq is the author of the text books Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage Management: An International Perspective and Advanced Event Management: An integrated and Practical Approach. He is currently editing a book on sustainability and events management. He also sits on a number of voluntary sector management boards. Razaq is a board member of international academic associations, CIRCLE (The Centre for International Research in Consumers Location and their Environments) and ATLAS (The Association for Tourism and Leisure Education). His research interests include cultural and community events, outdoor events, impacts and risks, financial management and events for religious tourism.

Editing two special editions of World Journal of Tourism, Leisure and Sport. The application of destination management models for religious destinations and tourism Modern trend in higher education: Enhancing and assessing student learning through the Internet. (with Tahir Rashid)
