Professor Rhodri Thomas has stepped down from his formal association with the Institute of Travel and Tourism. Since 2007, his professorship has been sponsored by the Institute as part of a wider partnership with Leeds Met. During that time he has produced several research reports for the ITT, undertaken two ESRC projects, created an d managed the ITT PhD awards and helped steer Leeds Met to becoming and ITT Centre of Excellence. He is currently undertaking a feasibility study for an ‘ITT MBA’ and writing a draft knowledge exchange strategy for the Board. Rhodri commented: ‘ I first got to know the ITT via a project I was undertaking on professionalism in travel and tourism. Since then, I have enjoyed working with the organisation and helping it achieve its goals. The time is right now to loosen the association so that I can also work closely with other partners. I will continue to work with the ITT on a project-by-project basis’.
