UKCEM's economic impact assessment of seven iconic event in Blackpool has been completed and the final reports accepted by VisitBlackpool.  The study encompassed the Illuminations switch-on, the UDO World Street Dance Championships, World Fireworks Championships, Nocturne Cycle Race, Airshow, Ride the Lights, and the Illuminations.  The reports have been well-received.   Chris Pope, the client, noted: 'The work you did for us was honest and accurate and has helped us immensely when looking to plan next year'.  Professor Rhodri Thomas, who headed up the research team, was equally positive about the project: 'This has been a really interesting project for us because VisitBlackpool are so progressive in their thinking.  Many local authorities could learn a thing or two from Blackpool's strategic use of events'.
