Professor Rhodri Thomas and Nicola McCullough recently examined the economic impact of the Northern Rail Blackpool 9s competition. The competition included all sides from the Co-operative Championship except Barrow raiders and Widnes Vikings who met instead in the final of the Northern rail Cup.
The assessment was funded as part of a wider partnership between the Rugby Football League and the North West Development Agency.
