The UK Centre for Events Management has been appointed to undertake a wide-ranging evaluation of the impact of Visit Blackpool's ambitious events programme, including its economic impact.  Project Director, Professor Rhodri Thomas, stated: 'We are very excited about this project. It involves a set of eight diverse events that, when combined, represent a highly creative package, and all taking place at such an iconic destination'.  The study will last for one year and incorporate the following events:

  • Armed Forces
  • Air Show – 8th August
  • UDO, World Street dance championships
  • Ride the Lights – 31 August
  • Illuminations Switch on
  • Illuminations
  • World Fireworks Championships
  • Showzam
